The legendary Hip-Hop group The Beastie Boys is halting their tour. The plans to cancel the tour were revealed in a video posted on their website. The video shows MCA and Ad Rock sitting in a recording studio minus Mike as MCA wastes no time telling fans the reason why the concerts are cancelled.

“I actually have a form of cancer in the gland that’s over here. It’s in gland called the parotid gland and it’s in a lymph node in that area. I’m actually going to have to have surgery next week coming up and then after that have some radiation done.”

Despite his prognosis, MCA seemed upbeat and assured fans that his cancer was “treatable.”

“The good news is that they did scans of my whole body and its localized in this one area, and it’s not in a place that affects my voice so that’s nice. That’s convenient. So it’s a little bit of a setback, it’s a pain in the A$$ but this is something that’s very treatable.

He then apologized to fans that made plans to attend a concert and assured them that they’d be back soon. The Beastie Boys’ album, Hot Sauce Committee Pt.1, was set to be released later this year. Their next show was scheduled for July 31 in Jersey City, New Jersey.
