C-Murder Trial Postponement Denied
A Federal judge denied prosecutors a postponement for C-Murder's murder trial. Judge Hans Liljeberg ruled Monday that prosecutors will not have the extra time requested to investigate new testimony from his friend and fellow inmate Juan Flowers.
As previously reported, C-Murder is charged with second degree murder for the death of 16 year-old, Steve Thomas at a night club back on January 12 of 2002. He was convicted in 2003 but awarded a new trial for complications with witnesses. Flowers, who is serving a life sentence in Georgia for murder suddenly confessed last week to killing Thomas. His sudden confession disputes the testimony from a witness at the scene that heard Flowers say, “No one could see C. Miller shoot that tiny little gun.”
If C-Murder is convicted, he will serve a mandatory life sentence. According to the Associated Press, Jury selection will take place for the trial on August 3rd.
