Joe Budden Has Found “Escape Route” For New LP

NEWS

August 11 will now serve as a double delight for Hip-Hop fans. Not only will the world shake with the release of Slaughterhouse's self-titled album, but Joe Budden will be releasing his second digital album on Amalgam Digital titled Escape Route.

Serving as the third collaboration between Budden and the digital label, they have already offered Halfway House and The Padded Room which has served as the outlet for Budden to air out his musical grievances since being put on the injury reserved list with Def Jam. Since partnering up with Amalgam, Jumpoff has been an untamed beast as he has been heavily involved in the music since 2008 and now stands behind four projects.

The EP will serve as a precursor to his third official release The Great Escape which should come around by October and will close the trilogy that will find the Jersey rapper finding a sense of happiness after going through his trials in the previous two.

"Escape Route is a precursor to what may very well be the best Joe Budden album ever… The Great Escape. It's filled with the lyricism and passion that Joe Budden fans have come to love me for....'The Great Escape' coming soon!"

Originally expected to hit in July along with Royce Da 5'9s EP The Revival, the month clearly came and went. It was later reported that the release had been handed in and was going through the necessary work before it was finalized. Budden and Amalgam have not released a date, but snippets of Escape Route were leaked onto the web on July 26 through Budden's live stream.

In an interview with HipHopWired.com, Budden addressed the status of his upcoming digital release stating that he can only wait for the label to make the move.

“I know I handed my sh*t into the label and whenever the label decides they ready for it to come (pause), it's going to come.”

So maybe a recent punch to the face by one of Raekwon's associates during the Rock the Bells tour seemed like the right time to build even more on Joey's hype and release the project. The saying must be true that controversy sells and the powers that be may feel as though he can capitalize off of the incident. One man's trash is another man's treasure.
