Cypress Hill fans and cannabis culture devotees will have a chance to revel in their taboo fixation at the revival of the group’s “Smokeout Concert and Festival.” The festival has been missing from its California origins since 2003, when the last “Smokeout” took place. Now with the help of concert producers, Guerilla Nation, the band is looking to spark things back up…literally.

The concert will be hosted by Cheech and Chong and feature Cypress along with hardcore rock group, SlipKnot, California rock band, The Deftones, the highest of the high duos in Hip-Hop, Redman and Method Man, and Atlanta’s favorite chronic counterparts, The Dungeon Family’s Goodie M.O.b.

Concert-goers will also see a reunion from two bands, legendary rock band, Sublime and Houston Hip-Hop icons, The Geto Boys. Willie D., Scarface, and Bushwick Bill will all be in attendance, a monumental move since the band has concentrated on solo projects since 20005, The Foundation. Sublime’s reunion on stage will also be pivotal since the band will have a new lead singer since the original lead, Bradley Nowell, O.D.’d on drugs.

Cypress Hill’s DJ Mugg’s is amped over the ode to cannabis and released a statement saying:

“After six years we are returning with the world’s premier cannabis music festival. The spirit of the Smokeout is centered in unifying people, music, while being embraced by the world’s oldest miracle, herb. This two day festival of high vibrations of lifted music with friends and family is truly exciting to see take form and once again rock the stage with some of the best musical acts in the world !!!!”

Guerilla Union executive, Chang Weisberg, fully supports the festivities deeming it the “Con of Cannabis.”

“We’ve pulled out all the stops for this year’s festival. It’s gonna be the Comic-Con of Cannabis! With Cheech and Chong hosting and the reunion of Dungeon Family legends Goodie Mob and the Geto Boys, I’m sure Hip-Hop heads will be thrilled too. The last minute addition of our very special guests Sublime is crazy. We always strive to make our shows a once in a lifetime event….this show is gonna be historic. Smokeout fans are in for a real treat.”

The Smokeout will last two days and take place at San Manuel Amphitheatre in Devore, California on October 23 and 24.  In addition to the concert, fans can enjoy the Smokeout Cannabis Cup and Medical Marijuana Expo. The expo will feature various events including a 420 movie night featuring classic high-time films, “munchies gardens” forums on cannabis education and growth tips, an exclusive V.I.P. (Very Important Pot Smoker) party, as well as special surprise guests.

In related Cypress news, front man B-Real released his solo project Smoke N Mirrors in February.  The album includes collaborations with Snoop Dogg, Bucksot, Sean Price and Cypress partner in rhyme Sen Dog.  Smoke N Mirrors also includes the “blazing” single “Fire” with Damian Marley.
