Ludacris Foundation To Honor Congresswoman Maxine Waters & Quincy Jones
The Ludacris Foundation announces its 6th Annual Benefit Dinner to take place Saturday, October 24, 2009, 7:00 PM at Ronald Reagan Building, 1300 Pennsylvania Ave., NW, Washington, DC 20004. Title sponsors for the gala include: BET Networks, Pepsi, and Anheuser-Busch. The gala will be filled with special performances and festive activities while supporting the foundation's efforts to raise funds for community groups and special programs.
The Ludacris Foundation will recognize five outstanding individuals for their tireless work and strong commitment to community service. Honorees are selected in acknowledgment of the excellence and integrity embodied in their work, as well as their willingness to support and participate in programs benefiting their community.
This year's honorees include:
Quincy Jones, The Chairman's Award
Kevin Liles, The President's Award
Debra Lee/ BET Networks, The Corporate Award
DC Writers Corp accepted by Kenny Carroll, The Community Service Award.
In addition, this year in honor of the foundation's first Washington, DC gala, Congresswoman Maxine Waters will be bestowed the first Ludacris Foundation Congressional Leadership Award.
The 6th Annual Benefit Dinner begins at 8:00 PM and the Casino Night will start immediately after the dinner at 10 PM in a special VIP area. The Casino Night high- roller prize is a 3 night stay at a 5 star resort in Bermuda donated by the Bermuda Department of Tourism.
The dinner features a silent auction with of one-of-a-kind music & film memorabilia as well as other fantastic items and special live performances by ELEW and Raheem DeVaughn. The invitation only dinner will be hosted by Ludacris and comedian Joe Clair.
All proceeds from the dinner will benefit The Ludacris Foundation: Leadership & Education, LudaCares, and Living Healthy Lifestyles local and national programs.
