Allen Iverson Re-Signs With 76ers
Avid basketball stans can breathe easier now that Allen Iverson has announced his comeback to the league.
Iverson will return to his old stomping grounds and rejoin the Philadelphia 76ers starting Monday. Just last week, A.I. had the basketball world in disarray after suddenly announcing his retirement. Now just a week later, his time on the bench is over and the 76ers are enlisting him to pick up the slack from player Lou Williams who was recently injured.
76ers president Ed Stefanski made the announcement today via the team's website. He released a short statement saying,
“In light of the recent injury to Lou Williams, which will sideline him for close to eight weeks, we felt that Allen was the best available free agent guard to help us at this time.”
