Chain Restaurant To Pay $1.26 Million For Race Complaints
'Bahama Breeze', the Orlando Florida based chain restaurant, is set to pay $1.26 million to settle a lawsuit 37 Black employees filed against the business in Ohio. According to 37 employees at a Beachwood location near Cleveland, Ohio they were subjected to racial slurs and denied breaks.
The Ohio location has denied any wrongdoing but agreed to provide anti-discrimination training for employees.
A spokesman for ‘Bahama Breeze', Mike Bernstein told the Associated Press that the company won't tolerate discriminatory behavior and the complaints were limited to one location and most emerged more than five years ago.
