Airplane Skids Across Runway In Jamaica, Injures 40
An airplane error in Kingston, Jamaica has left passengers with broken bones, back pains and some serious injuries. The incident happened Tuesday night when an American Airlines flight originally from D.C. skidded violently across a runway in heavy rain before stopping just short of the Caribbean Sea.
During the botched landing, baggage dislodged from the overhead bins and left 154 passengers and staff on board in a frenzy. According to airline spokesman Tim Smith, the impact cracked the fuselage, crushed the left landing gear and separated both engines from the Boeing 737-800.
Over 40 people were taken to hospitals for broken bones while four others are being treated for serious injuries.
Scary stuff, I would have hated to have been on that plane. Hope everyone gets better.
