Former NBA-Star Gets DWI Charge For Driving Into Tree
Former NBA-star Jayson Williams is once again in trouble with the law, and as in other instances, has no one to blame but himself.
Police responded the scene of a single-vehicle crash during the wee hours of morning to find Williams injured behind the wheel is has Black Mercedes SUV.
Local authorities claim that alcohol was behind the crash, impairing the former b-baller’s senses enough for him to drive straight into a tree at what was determined to be incredible speed.
Adding insult to injury, witnesses at the accident scene say that they say Williams jump to the passenger side of his vehicle before the police arrived, an act that adds to the former Nets star reputation for displaying judgment and behavior that can only be described as erratic at best.
Officers arrived to serve Williams with a DWI as he recuperated in a local hospital.
Retiring from the league in 2000 after several season on the hardwood, Williams has been fighting for his freedom for over eight years after “inadvertently” murdering his limo driver Costas “Gus” Christofi in 2002.
