Black Eyed Peas Announce Eco-Friendly Fashion Campaign
Multi-platinum Grammy award winners the Black Eyed Peas are continuing their national E.N.D. tour alongside DTP front man Ludacris.
While Luda and the Peas travel to their respective 23 tour dates, Wil.i.am and his team will begin an innovative eco-friendly campaign.
Working alongside fabric and apparel company Rethink , The Black Eyed Peas will work to support “green fashion.”
They'll do so by encouraging concert goers to recycle their plastic bottles rather than leaving them in the trash receptacles.
The recycled products will then be used to manufacture Black Eyed Peas merchandise including t-shirts.
Clean energy organization Green For All and environmental voting rights organization League of Conservation Voters are also working with the group to conduct community outreach and educational events, including conversations around jobs and opportunities in the green industry.
Speaking on their “green” campaign, Will.i.am. says that he and his group look forward to spreading the message on the benefits of recycling.
“From creating new sustainable products out recycled bottles to capping harmful global warming pollution, the actions and policies that protect the planet for future generations are the same as those that create new jobs and economic opportunities. The Peas are proud to be getting the word out about these important efforts, and we hope everyone coming to the shows and visiting our website will get involved and take action.”
