No matter how many steps rapper DMX tries to take forward, there is always something that finds him taking even more steps backward.

Reported Tuesday, the rapper, legally Earl Simmons, was arrested by Adult Probation officers and charged with five counts of probation violation, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

Placed into the custody of a Phoenix jail, X has been isolated from the other inmates, and Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio is hoping that this arrest will result in Simmons facing hard time in prison.

“We would hope that he is finally sent to prison,” Arpaio said. “We’ve arrested him five times already. How many times do you have to violate the law?

Well, guess that puts a hold on those 2010 albums.

Initially, rumors were stating that the arrest was related to drug problems and his lawyer, Gary Jenkins, took the necessary steps by reaching out to Dr. Drew Pinsky.

Dr. Pinsky is known in the mainstream for his show Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew and Sex Rehab with Dr. Drew where formers stars such as basketball player Deniis Rodman, actor Daniel Baldwin and actress Brigette Nielsen seek to find ways to deal with sex or drug related addictions.

In related news, the wife of X, Tashera Simmons, is aiming to air out some dirty laundry with the release of a tell-all book.  Titled Strength of Woman, the autobiographical story will find his wife talking about her experiences with her family and trying to hold everything together as they traveled through DMX’s journey.
