Lawyers Defend Caster Semenya, Say Gender Tests Prove She's A Woman
Lawyers for embattled runner Caster Semenya are reiterating the fact that their client is indeed a woman after obtaining results of her gender testing in February.
According to the lawyers, the test results show that she is a woman and she should have been cleared months ago to compete in competitions.
They tell eNews television in South Africa that her medical team tested the 19-year-old and obtained positive results.
The International Association of Athletics Federation has said however that they will not release the results of their own gender tests until June.
As previously reported the runner is still facing opposition at events despite getting an all-clear from the IAAF.
Most recently, she was not allowed to participate in a meet in Stellenbosch, South Africa.
