A Minnesota man is behind bars after police say he assaulted his girlfriend with no arms and no legs claiming that he was acting in self defense.
Jacoby Laquan Smith was arrested for hitting his girlfriend Tiesha Bell 10 times in the face. Police originally said that Smith assaulted Bell because she was “blocking his view of the television” but the man tells a different story.
Smith says his girlfriend became violent toward him after he accused of her cheating.
He claims that she threw a bedpan full of urine at him and kicked him in the groin.
He tells the Pioneer Press that although she lost her limbs due to a childhood illness she often would use physical force against him.
“She’ll swing, push me down and choke me with her nubs.”
He also says that sometimes she would hit him with her wheelchair.
Smith faces a fifth-degree assault charge and a charge of interfering with a 911 call for blocking the woman’s path to a telephone when she tried to call police.
