MLB Players Witness Man Leap to His Death
“Weaver actually saw him splat,” Matt Palmer said. “I felt kind of sick to my stomach…It's hard to see something like that and hard to take it.”
Many people say what they would do in critical situations, but most actually haven't undergone such scenarios, making their statement stand as false until the moment presents itself.
For players of the Los Angeles Angels, pitchers Jared Weaver and Matt Palmer would have never expected that something as simple as crossing the street could turn into witnessing a suicide.
A 39-year-old man made a leap to his death from the 42nd floor of Le Parker Meridien, in New York. It is reported that the man might have been a former employee of the hotel.
While Palmer was able to briefly speak on the traumatizing event, Weaver was unable to even discuss what he had witnessed.
“It's obviously traumatic when you witness something like that, but these guys understand the privilege of playing baseball,” said Angels manager Mike Scioscia.
