Big Boi Says Outkast Not Ready Yet For VH-1 Hip-Hop Honors
Outkast member and ATLien Big Boi recently sat down in an interview with Maurice Garland to discuss why Outkast hasn't been honored at VH1's Hip-Hop Honors.
Outkast, who are most notably known for being one of the pioneers in the Southern Hip-Hop movement, has always received recognition in the streets, but seems to lack the same legendary status in the industry.
Big Boi assures fans that this isn't the case with VH-1, stating that the lack of “honor” is due to Outkast not wanting to participate at this stage in their career.
“We haven't wanted to participate,” Big Boi states. “At first it was because of our hectic schedule, but then it was like we didn't feel it was necessary yet. The honor is great, but it just seems so final and we are not at that point in the game yet.”
