Accused Killer Of Akon Protege Dolla Found Not Guilty On All Charges

Aubrey Louis Berry was found not guilty on all charges including first degree murder to upcoming Atlanta rap star and Akon protege Roderick Anthony Burton II aka Dolla.

The 24-year-old music promoter who has been in jail since May 18th 2009 was released yesterday and walked away a free man.

Berry pleaded not guilty, and testified last week that he acted in self defense.  Stating a case that Dolla threatened to kill him and that he believed he had a gun.  Prosecutors tried to explain that police never found a weapon on Dolla, and that the gun shot to the head was because the rapper was fleeing.  However, the jury believed there was not enough evidence to prove the case.

Berry's law team emphasized Burton's music and online videos were examples of his supposed gang ties.

They also said that the altercation of a fight that the two were in at an Atlanta strip club just prior to a shooting, was enough reason that Dolla would have a gun and kill Berry the next time he saw him.

Smh…sometimes it seems like the government never gives these rappers justice.

    This is so messed up in so many ways...the government do not care about rappers (blacks) killing themselevs they (blacks) are actually doing the government a favor by continuing this black on black crime..less work for the government to do..they sit back and laugh as we as a race kill one another..they are so ready to get rid of us!! And still we cant see this..so guess what..the saga continues....so sad! Blacks rarely get the justice they deserve!!!

    The murderer may have gotten away in the eyes of the court system, but he has not gotten away in the eyes of God. He will definitely have bad karma for this. What goes around always comes back around.

    REGARDLESS OF WHA HIS SONGS SUGGESTED, IT WAS A CLEAR CASE OF MURDER. U DONT SHOOT A MAN N D HEAD WHILE HE IS FLEEING AND CALL IT SELF DEFENSE. N FACT IT WAS PRE-MEDIATED. PPL TRULY DONT LIKE RAPPERS AND SEE THEIR SUCCESS AS A UNFAIRNESS...THEY PROVED THAT WHEN THEY FOUND DUDE NOT GUILTY. SAME THING HAPPENED SO MANY YRS AGO N SACRAMENTO, WHERE THEY USED A DUDE RAPS AGAINST HIM AND SENT HIM 2 PRISON.

    Damn shame. I have been following this story ever since dolla was killed hoping that justice would prevail. To my surprise, this is a damn shame and I am beyond *****ed. Trust and believe what goes around comes right on back around and aubrey will get his. I have neva wished death on anyone but I hope when its aubreys turn to go, he suffers a slow and painful death!

    I can't believe that he was found not guilty. You mean to tell that when a man travels across the untied states WITH A GUN ON A PLANE and kills someone that wasn't armed during the time of the shooting is NOT GUILTY? Because the victim SUPPOSLIY have ties to a gang? REALLY? So this is the kind of world we live in now? i have ties to his family so that gives someone the right to kill me cause he had ties to a gang?

    wow I cant believe what I just read this puts a whole new meaning on the saying "getting away with murder". smh....Im just am at a loss for words. rip dolla and the killer will have to be judged on day by a higher power and there is no getting off the hook when that day comes
