Man Arrested For Trying To Spread HIV By Spitting Blood At Paramedics

POLITICS

An Oklahoma man is still behind bars this morning after police say he purposely tried to spread HIV to paramedics by spitting infected blood in their faces.

46-year-old  Daniel Hedge threw blood and spit at three EMS workers  after paramedics were called to treat him after he was wounded in an altercation.
When they attempted to treat his injuries he became belligerent and spat in their faces telling them he had HIV and Hepatitis C.

The worker's faces were reportedly covered in blood and saliva and Hedge was charged with four counts of spreading infectious disease and four counts of knowingly engaging to transfer HIV.

Paramedics report that they usually have masks and gloves to wear when they fear they're at risk of infection but did not anticipate that issue with Hedge.
