When you think of large groups in the hip-hop industry, we usually think of groups who have different members with a lot of versatility. So when it comes to the new rising group from Akron, Ohio “Da Kennel,” you can’t help but to wonder the potential of a group with six different rappers, and three producers.

With members, Unknown, Mage, Gram Citi, Skillz McNeilla, Kuntry, and Leland Ray spitting the bars, and Dat Boi Pizz, Rip Rugga, and J.C. on production, Da Kennel is a group with a lot of individual talent as well as years of working together.

“We basically started out as a bunch of friends just freestyling,” says Unknown. “But, soon we started buying equipment, making our own beats and the songs just started coming.”

The group, soon found themselves rapping in a house and spitting freestyles on a daily basis while learning each other’s styles and learning to work with each other. After a couple years of hard work and dedication, the group was ready to release their debut mixtape Hood II Hood Volume 1.

With the release of their new single “Model,” Da Kennel hopes to give the streets what they want, as they prepare to release their debut album soon. Look out for Da Kennel to be doing major things this summer, including their new upcoming album, and even touring at major events and across the country.
