Obama Meets With Arizona Governor To Discuss Immigration Bill

On Thursday, President Obama met with Governor Jan Brewer of Arizona to discuss the recent immigration legislation in the state.

This meeting comes as a response to the Arizona SB1070 that would make it a
state crime for illegal immigrants to not have an alien registration document.

At the meeting President Obama expressed concerns regarding the law, stating that the law would "interfere with the federal government's legislation policy."

Governor Brewer defended the bill and requested that in order to diffuse the bill, there would have to be federal involvement that includes an increase in Arizona's border patrol security.

In response to this,  Obama has also pledged to discuss the possibility of sending 1,200 more National Guard troops to the Arizona-Mexico border in order to try and stem the flow of illegal immigrants.

The law is scheduled to take effect in late July unless blocked by the court.

    Immigration is a privilege, not a right. Quotas are set for a reason. No country has unlimited immigration from other countries. Most of the illegal immigration comes for two reasons. First, the people who come want the better conditions they find in the US. Second, they think that eventually the federal government will offer amnesty and they will be able to stay. Let's be clear. Those people who come across the border without a work permit or a visa are illegal. Illegal means a crime has been committed. They don't want to accept that they have broken a law to get here.

    What if your neighbor had a big family and they were all poor? What if hundreds keep wandering over when you had a cookout to ask for a hotdog or wandering through your house? Just because Mexico is our neighbor, doesn't allow them to wander through our house uninvited. President B.O. may want to explain how his total incompetence has a governor as the villain, and the illegal tresp*****ers being defended?
