Amare Stoudamire Inks 5 Year/100 Million Dollar Deal With Knicks

Amare Stoudamire has signed a 5 year -100 million dollar deal with the New York Knicks.

Amare is the first of many big free agent names to sign a max contract with a different team, as the New York Knicks hope to sign more including the “King” of all free agents, Lebron James.

Although the deal can't be signed officially until Thursday, Stoudemire has already started recruiting, saying he spoke to James' people and directly and to Wade's last week.

"Totally comfortable, totally confident that my leadership qualities will uplift all of us to do something great this upcoming season," Stoudemire said. "So again, the Knicks are back."

The Knicks are arguably the first team to make a major move this offseason as they prepare to welcome their new star player To show their anticipation they had signs that pictured Stoudemire in their uniform and "Welcome, Amare Stoudemire" all over the entrances of Madison Square Garden.

The Knicks have spent two seasons clearing cap space to make this offseason the year to pick up two all star players. Do you think with Amare that the Knicks have enough bait to pick up Lebron?

    Man i really don't think this is that great news for the Knicks. Sure at least they don't go home empty handed but the fact of the matter in my opinion is that Amare Stoudemire is not going to lead your team to the promised land. It would be good for the NBA if the Knicks can get rolling but i don't think Amare is the answer to their problem unless they can land a couple other marquee Free Agents.     AMARE IS GONNA FIND OUT JUST LIKE JOE JOHNSON, QUITIN RICHARDSON, AND SHAWN MARION DID. WITHOUT STEVE NASH, YOUR NUMBERS WILL DROP AND YOUR CAREER WILL SUFFER.     Seriously. MSG Network announced today that it will air two 30-minute editions of “Knicks Night Live” tomorrow night instead of the show's normal one hour program. The 8:00 one is for Amar'e.
