Brazilian Soccer Star Arrested For Plotting Murder Of Ex-Girlfriend, Feeding Her To Dogs

The goalie for Brazil's championship Flamengo team was arrested in connection with the death of his ex-girlfriend after police say she was murdered and dismembered before having her body parts fed to dogs.

Bruno Fernandes de Souza is in police custody along with Luiz Henrique Romoan and former police detective Luiz Aparecido Santos.

Authorities says the soccer star hired Santos to kill his ex-girlfriend 25-year-old Eliza Samudio, after the woman tried to prove he was the father of her 4-month-old son .

According to the New York Post, the woman filed a complaint in October saying that Souza beat her and tried to force her to swallow an abortion-inducing drug after she became pregnant the first time they were intimate.

When she refused and had the baby, police say the soccer star became so enraged that he arranged for her brutal torture and murder.

Police say Sauza watched as former police detective Santos strangled the woman, cut up her body and fed some parts to his Rottweilers. Police believe other parts of her body were buried in concrete.
Police believe the murderer had loud music blaring to cover her screams and when she begged him to stop saying “she couldn't bear it any more”, he reportedly replied,

"You are not going to bear it any more. You are going to die."

Police took Souza for DNA testing but he used his legal right to refuse to give any samples.

He has since said that he is innocent and has a “clear conscience.”

The soccer player has also complained that the case might ruin his chances to play for Brazil in the next World Cup.
