Missy Elliot Pressured To Cancel Concert In Israel Amidst Protest
Missy Elliott has to make a big decision regarding her show in Israel.
According to reports, Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East have created an online boycott to stop Missy from performing at GaneHaTaarucha in Tel Aviv on Thursday, July 15th, for her first ever performance in Israel due to the ongoing land dispute between Israelis and Palestinians.
Although understandable, the proposed boycott is reportedly “not working well”.The concert which also features the popular Israeli funk/rap band, HadagNahash has reportedly almost sold out.
Recently a few big names have refused to perform in Israel in support of the Palestinian boycott against the country.
Artists include Carlos Santana, Bono/U2 and Gil-Scott Heron.
The Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel was established in 2004, to protest the Israeli's occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
Here's a link to the boycott of the show. [More]
