New York police have released footage of police fatally shooting a man who rammed his car into an officer last winter.
37-year-old Howard Tucker was shot and killed in February after he was stopped for a routine traffic stop that went horribly wrong.
Video spliced together from the officer’s dashboard camera and from cameras outside of a building show Tucker trying to speed away on a snow covered street after officers spotted a .45 caliber pistol in his car.
Tucker is seen accelerating into Officer Kevin Moyniha after sideswiping a utility pole while another officer, Christopher Pageau opens fire.
The driver then hits Officer Moyniha again, this time trapping the officer beneath the front bumper and pinning him against the fence of a local church before being struck seven times.
Tucker, a parolee, died from his injuries including a shot through the neck.
The video was presented to a grand jury last month who cleared the officers of any wrongdoing.
