Wyclef Jean Set To Announce Run For President Of Haiti

Wyclef Jean is set to announce his official run for President of Haiti.

As previously reported the Yele Haiti head was mulling over the idea of announcing his candidacy and said that he “Can't sing forever.”

Now Clef is preparing to make his formal announcement next week and according to AllHipHop, will announce his run for Presidency Thursday, August 5th.

The 2010 election will take place November 28th and the sitting President, Rene Preval is not eligible for reelection.

    Cleff can help Haiti without being the president. Why is he running.... We had past experiences with Haitians with no political experiences running and winning (Titid) and it got us nowhere. I would strngly suggest Cleff and Sweet Micky to stick to nusic and leave politics for real experience politicians. I think his uncle the amb*****ador stand a better chance at winning.
