A second person has been attacked in what appears to be copycat replay as another woman was burned by an acid from some cowardly culprit walking the street.

The second attack occurred in Mersa, Arizona on Friday and left 41-year-old Derri Velarde severely scared with 2nd degree burns on her face and shoulders.

Velarde was in an apartment complex parking lot when an unidentified woman flung liquid into her face and ran off.

She stated,

“I saw… a woman, you know, walking up, with what looked like a drink of water in her hand.  It immediately just started to burn, I was on fire.”

Police don’t believe this attack was a random act of violence but more of a copycat attack which occurred last week in Vancouver, Washington when 28-year-old Bethany Storro was attacked by a stranger.

In Vancouver, Storro was approached by a woman who stated,

Hey pretty girl,’ and she turned around and she asked if she wanted something to drink, when the liquid was splashed into her face.

Here is a composite sketch of the woman who attacked Velarde.
