Bishop Eddie Long Scandal Continues: Third Man Alleges Sex

A third man has filed a lawsuit against Bishop Eddie Long claiming that the pastor coerced him into having inappropriate sexual relations.

According to a spokesman for lawyer B.J. Bernstein, a third lawsuit was filed this afternoon against the head of New Birth Missionary Baptist in DeKalb County Superior Court.

Jamal Paris, a member of the congregation, filed the suit against Long, the church and the Longfellows Youth Academy Inc.

Bishop Long has yet to personally comment on the case but will hold a press conference tomorrow afternoon.

As previously reported 21-year-old Anthony Flagg and 20-year-old Maurice Robinson both claim that they were chosen as the pastor's “spiritual sons” and have been having inappropriate relations with him since the age of 16, the legal age of consent in Georgia.

Both men are represented by attorney Bernstein.

God himself said to his prophet that " I will remove my spirit from upon you because of your sin". I love Bishop Long and am in prayer with him but this does not mean we should misinterprate scripture to support and over look his wrong. The Bible says "Those that I love I Chastised"

They too would say HE IS ANOINTED, the gates of hell shall not prevail against him...preach brother preach, what a good sermon, I tell you the spirit was moving me today. We children were just devastated and new the truth. I'm telling you people are weaker than they realize and can be easily control. When I read these responses, I can see this behavior repeatedly. The Catholic worshipers would say the same thing about their accused Priests to the very end all the while still mindlessly throwing their wallets into the pulpit. You all need to look up Illuminati and you will find "New Birth" which means a new beginning as they take the oath of selling their souls to Satan. It is not an Eastern Star the Bishop was wearing.       @Inez- Who knows"why now?" I will say in any situation where one has been victimized whether physical or mental, the victim is often presented as "earning" or "deserving" the behavior. The focus changes from the improper act to who or what that person has done.

      Does a woman deserved to be slapped because she spoke "out of turn", had a child out of wedlock, or is a recovered addict? Does a molested child "deserve" accusation because they "allowed" it or waited a period of time to tell others?

      This case remains to be seen. It's so hard! If the accusations are false - it brings many forms of destruction. If the accusations are true - it brings many forms of destruction of lives. It's just heartbreaking all the way around!

    I'm sorry Realfolk. 16 years of age may have a developed body but maturity has not set in. That is a child! One of any gender could be easily influenced by an adult. The difference of years and life experiences would make it TOO easy.

    This situation requires prayer and support for ALL involved - the boys, their families, the Long family, the congregation, those who will use this situation to defame christianity or support their not choosing to actively parti*****te, and every person influenced or a benefactor.

    Who says this guy is "anointed"? This is a big problem with the Black church ( perhaps all churches). We believe the self aggrandizement that these people perpetuate and start to elevate them to God status. What has his ministry done to help tue poor and needy in the community? Does he need to live that large? Why does he need to treat these young men to lavish trips? Why is he always under suspicion of financial misappropriations? Is this the model that Jesus set?
    Is Long's life what the Word speaks of?

    Ask yourself these questions. The bible does not say we shouldn't judge. Study the full context. It says that first remove the plank from your eye, so you can see clearly to judge someone's behavior. Wake up people! Stop worshiping these men and turn to God!

    I go to a church were we had an famous musician who was doing inappropriate acts on young boys. The members of the church did not believe he was doing these acts and got mad quoting these same kind of scriptures. Leave him alone you do not if this is true letting this kind of thing on for years. Come to find out, He went to another church start doing the same thing and that church acted quickly, now he is in jail doing 23 years. People remember everyone can fall short of God's glory. Just because he is a Bishop does not mean he can not commit these acts. Pray for both parties until the truth comes out, I already been through this...High officer in the church and learned from experiance

That says alot about a supposingly strong, honest man of God! The real question is exactly how long has this been going on? This answer will testify to the true character of this person.     Judges, School Teachers and professors, Govtmt officials, Police, and so on are supposed to be of unsullied character. the Leadership in the Christian church claims to even live by a higher standard, preaches eternal judgement against those who don't, so it is not unreasonable for folks to have a reaction of disgust, disappointment, and anger when they even "APPEAR" to be inpropriety of any kind. we are supposed to follow them as our examples. If you can't lead by example don't lead, step aside...humble out.

    One reason we concerned whether he is innocent or not is because we asked christians put to much faith in man rather than Jesus, it's very well possible that he could've done those things and if do as long as he has breath in his body he can ask for forgiveness and it's done instantly no questions asked that's how good God is; man wants answers, God wants a repentive heart if his church really loves him they will stand by him and move on in the Lord.     My comment is don't speak of any human being or act as being awesome. There is no one who fits this description but God, our Father who is most deserving of all of our praise. For the sake of Christians in our world, pray for Bishop Long that this truly is not true. As Christians, we have to be the light of the world to help teach others (by word & deeds) to come to Christ.

    This is such a tragic event. I've always liked Bishop Long and thought that he does an excellent job of conveying the word. As sad as this may be, and as much as I wished this hadn't have happened, I do believe that there is some truth to these young men's allegations. However, when these people write "touch not my anointed", listen to them! Be careful what you say about Bishop Eddie Long because though he may have sinned and fallen short of His glory (like we all have and will do), he is still God's anointed. And remember, God is going to hold us accountable for every word that we speak (this is written in the Bible). So even if you think he is guilty, be mindful of how you express yourself. And please, remember to pray for him, his church, these young men, and everyone else invovled in this situation. Y'all be blessed.

    I really enjoyBishop Eddie Long teaching. I lost my nephew, my son , and my sister within months. Bishop words encouraged me to trust God and he will heal my hurting heart. All I can say is I am praying for Bishop, his Wife and Childrens. Rumors hurts and people can be cruel. Bishop knows God for himself and God knows Bishop. Whatever happens God's Will Be Done. Bishop hold to God's unchanging hand. I have been tried in the fire and God have Mercy and gives us many chances for change. Be strong in God Bishop Long, God Loves and care for you.
