Lawsuits Claim Bishop Eddie Long Coerced Two Young Men Into Sex
Two men filed lawsuits against mega-church pastor Bishop Eddie Long Tuesday accusing him of coercing them into having sex with him in exchange lavish trips, cars and cash.
Long, the Bishop of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Georgia with over 25,000 members adamantly denies the claims.
The spiritual leader's attorney Craig Gillen has released a statement on the accusations saying,
“It is unfortunate that these two young men have chosen to take this course of action."
The two men, Anthony Flagg, 21, and Maurice Robinson, 20, both claim that they were chosen as the pastor's “spiritual sons” and have been having inappropriate relations with him since the age of 16, the legal age of consent in Georgia.
Attorney Gillen noted that Maurice Robinson was arrested in June 2010 in connection with a burglary in the church along with 19-year-old Anthony Boyd who assisted in stealing an Ipad and an Iphone.
According to Robinson's attorney B.J. Bernstein however, his actions were in retaliation after learning that he was not the pastor's only “spiritual son.”
She tells the Atlanta Journal Constitution,
“He lashed out but if it weren't for that act, we wouldn't know about this. He talked to his friends and learned Long had other ‘spiritual sons.'”
The lawsuits name Long, New Birth Missionary Baptist Church and its Longfellows Youth Academy as defendants.
Attorney Bernstein says she has text messages, emails and photographs of Long with the men as proof.
Robinson says when he was 15 years old he began spending personal time with the pastor and at some point was added to the church's payroll.
He also says he was taken on a trip to New Zealand with the pastor where “sexual touching and other sexual acts” occurred.
At one point the suit claims that Long bought Flagg a Ford Mustang.

The bible calls you a fool to think there is no God. How do you think the existence of man came about. I must admit that men of God do fall however, they pay a costly price. Even brothers in the bible felled. I don't uphold Long if this is true however, don't blame God for what he did. You still will give an account for your rejection of Jesus Christ. And in hell will you lift your eyes. Even demons believe and tremble. Rather you believe it or not, if you don't know Christ as savior then Satan is your father. And those who follow Satan have their place in the lake of fire.

All of these people give good church going Christians a bad name
I believe in God, but don't believe in Church. I think every person needs to have their own personal relationship with God or whichever religion you choose. One thing I keep hearing is the devil and burning in hell. I don't believe in the devil or hell --- because I don't believe in the Bible or the interpretation of it. I have my own personal relationship with God, but how can God fault those who follow Christianity, Islam, Catholic, Buddhism, or the hundreds of other religions out here! In most cases its determined by your upbringing which religion you choose. You can't sit here and tell me that all the people in a African village who never heard of Christianity will go to hell because they practice a completely different religion. How about the crazies out here who cold-heartedly believe they've killed because God told them to do so, they all going to hell too, even though in their heart of hearts they believe God told them to commit the act. Or how about the men in war who fight and kill for our country, they all going to hell too I *****ume --- if you follow the teachings of the Bible and Church this is what they teach us, but its all false. Believing in God is one thing, but believing in the Bible or Church is a totally different thing! I think faith is a personal decision and I decide to believe in one God because I spiritually believe there is a God, but I don't need church or the bible to know that. Now I must say I do not knock those who believe in church or the bible because we all are striving to be better and if that makes you a better person then so be it, it's just not for me.

How can you know God and don't know the word of God. How can you believe in God and heaven and not know that the devil is real. God created heaven and hell and everything in the earth. God created the devil as lucifer the light however, Satan rebelled and was thrown out of heaven. As far as God telling people to kill in the name of God,I agree with you there. The bible that you don't read tells you that in Johns 10:10 that Satan comes to kill steal and destroy, Christ comes to give life. I am reading some of the comments and I see a lack of knowledge and understanding, but not with everyone. However, there is one comment stating that one believes in God and not the church. God and the devil both exist. For every great thing there is something there trying to destroy it. There are many cultures that are taught as specific religious practice. Nevertheless, Jesus says that He the Truth, Way and the Life and no man can come to the Father but by HIm. With that being said, God will not hold any man accountable and will not send them to hell if they do not know the truth. That is why Jesus said that he will not and cannot return until His name is preached all over the world and with modern technology and media that is being made possible. It is every man's responsibility to "get on the bus." If not there will another opportunity to accept the truth, but it will be a time of great tribulation.
With Bishop Eddie Long, but with no only Eddie Long. He is just a ***** in the game to destroy christianity. There are many of our so called religious leader who has sold out to the fraternal orders that are set in place to control every aspect of dependencies. This will not so much destroy Eddie Long's life, but it will paint an ugly picture on the Church. However, the people are the Church and the gates of hell shall prevail against it. Eddie Long will not have his day in court, but he will have his day to repent and be forgiven and that is what God is concerned about Eddie Long and those young men's soul. God Bless us All. Blind faith has never been a sensible option for anything, religion included. A stranger is still a stranger, no matter what costume he's dressed in. Unfortunately within the church there are some followers who put 'people in robes' upon pedestals.
