A reported shooting has happened at the University of Texas.
According to Texas news station KVUE, a gunman fired an AK-47 on the campus of University of Texas-Austin at around 8 a.m. this morning.
UT student Andrew McWaters told the news station that he heard “four gunshots” while walking near the library around 8:10 this morning.
He then says he came face to face with one of the suspects, who had on a black ski mask that “smiled” at him and said,
“Whoohooo.”
Other students corroborate his story, saying they saw a gunman wearing a ski mask and a business suit.
UT Police confirm that the gunman is dead from a self inflicted gunshot wound but say they are still searching for a second suspect.
The campus is currently on lockdown and a SWAT team is on the scene.
No injuries have yet to be reported.
