Michael Jordan Says He Could Have Scored 100 Points In Today’s NBA, Ranks Kobe

The new NBA2K11video game has a whole world of sports gamers talking, and even the game’s cover boy Michael Jordan speaking out on the finished product.

In a recent interview with USA Today, the Hall of Fame hooper speaks on his involvement with the highly reviewed game and talks a little on the current state of the NBA.

Jordan states that he was integral part of the games concept saying,

“That’s one good thing about the whole project. They had a concept of how they wanted to utilize me in certain games and certain highlights. And all of them were great highlights, obviously. So it didn’t take much for me to say, let me see how that plays into the whole scenario and once they showed it to me I thought that it was cool.”

In the article, MJ also says due to defensive rule changes like hand checking, if he played in today’s NBA, dropping triple digits would be reachable for him.

“It’s less physical and the rules have changed, obviously, says Jordan. “Based on these rules, if I had to play with my style of play, I’m pretty sure I would have fouled out or I would have been at the free throw line pretty often and I could have scored 100 points.”

His Airness also speaks on the infamous Kobe comparison and where he thinks the all-star Lakers guard stands among the history of NBA’s elite.

“It’s so hard to say. I think he is always going to be within the conversations of some of the greatest players who’ve played by the time he is finished. Where does he rank among those, if you are talking about positions? If you are talking about guards, I would say he has got to be in the Top 10.”

NBA2K11, which was released on October 5, features a new mode called MJ: Creating a Legend where you can take Michael Jordan and place him on any team of your choosing in today’s NBA.

That’s after you complete a series of challenges that include playing the “flu game,” scoring 63 points in a playoff game against Boston and other MJ career feats.

OUCH, he said Kobe would be in the top 10, I wonder who the other 8 are and which number.

MJ saying he got Kobe in his top 10 is good enough! Mike would never admit that anybody is better than him..esp. anybody he played against, so that’s as good as it gets.

  • ignoranceisbliss

MJ knows what he is talking about go back to the Bad Boy era and Kobe Lebron and Wade would not even score 19 a game because those men would have pounded them boys….MJ would have average 40 a game today easily

Mike, at the peak of his career, could have outscored and outplayed any in the league to date.

Well stunt them Michael. LOL They still can’t touch you!

when mj played there was no zone in the league players were less athletic and mike didn’t have to deal with peaple building dream team to beat him at the end of the day some of you just will not let it go mike knows kobe is nipping at his heels but his ego will not let him admit it I think if kobe gets one more ring his legacy will be stronger because they are building dream teams to beat this man plus he is 31 don’t let him get seven rings I’m trying to get kobe # 1 over jorden the hardware is and will speak for its self

jordan was the man, kobe had 3 rings with the most dominate centers at the time shaq, shaq was MVP in the championship 3 times jordan was MVP 6 times in his championship…you cant compare the two, the rules where different back then and a lot physical. the reason why players look more versatile and skilled now is because they are not being touched they can move around more freely, and as far as zone diffense its not the traditional zone there is a defensive 3 second rule…
