Obama Praises The Philadelphia Eagles

The President of The United States is making headlines and raising a few eyebrows, this time for personally calling the owner of the Philadelphia Eagles and praising him for “giving Michael Vick a second chance.”

The President reportedly called owner Jeffrey Lurie Sunday and told him that a “level playing field rarely exists for prisoners who have completed their sentences” and “too many prisoners never get a fair second chance.”

The White House has since confirmed that Obama did indeed call Lurie but insists that the President still condemns the pro-baller’s behavior.

White House spokesman Bill Burton released a statement to the Huffington Post saying,

“The President did place a call to Mr. Lurie to discuss plans for the use of alternative energy at Lincoln Financial Field, during which they spoke about that and other issues. He of course condemns the crimes that Michael Vick was convicted of but, as he’s said previously, he does think that individuals who have paid for their crimes should have an opportunity to contribute to society again.
