Brett Favre Fined $50,000 For “Sexting” Scandal
Brett Favre Fined $50,000
Brett Favre will have to pay a $50,000 fine for his role in a sexually orientated text messaging scandal.
The Minnesota Viking was fined for “failure to cooperate” with the investigation into inappropriate messages and lewd photos he reportedly sent to former New York Jets game-day hostess Jenn Sterger.
He has not been suspended.
Commissioner Roger Goodell “could not conclude that Favre violated the league’s personal conduct policy but issued this citation instead.
A statement says that Goodell determined Favre was “not candid in several respects during the investigation resulting in a longer review and additional negative public attention for Favre, (Jenn) Sterger and the NFL.”
The league’s investigation of Favre began in October.
Favre was ousted for reportedly sending Sterger inappropriate pictures and text messages two years ago when they were both with the Jets.
