    These pics are so not proving anything. First of all, Rhihanna looks the same as she did when she first came out in 2005. The pictures are just taken in brighter light on one of the pics. And the same can be said for a few others. Epic Fail Hip Hop wired.

        i'm black and i find it may be hard to post positive things about black people because the black celebrities with the most fame are doing idiotic things. and not only black ones but also female celebs and young celebs. it's embarr*****ing that these are the people who hold the most weight in the world. they don't even love themselves or have security in themselves yet they are the ones with the power who are idolized by today's children.

    Only about 1/4 of these are bleaching. The rest are victims of different lighting in the pictures, airbrushing, bad/no tanning and disease (or something).

        Light skin blacks do exist actually I am one of them and would NEVER bleach my skin. I'm 19 and people think I'm mixed race as I am VERY light for a full black person both parents are black. I get my fair skin from my nan so please don't make a comment unless you know fact.

      Bey n' Riri don't bleach...they are naturally light and it's know that when they air brush bey's pics, they make her lighter (U CAN DO THAT!!)....ESPECIALLY for thoes L'oreal commercials/shoots, so when light hits them (spotlight, camera light, etc) they appear even lighter!     Rihanna, Iman and Beyonce clearly did not bleach their skin. The bleached ones look ashy. To be fair if you took a picture of me after a vacation on a beach somewhere then again about this time of year, you would see a big difference. Everyone knows black skin tans more readily than any other skin type. I mean Iman is originally from Somali and then lived in Kenya before she went to the U.S. the 1975 pic is probably from then.

    the title of this post is ACCUSED bleachers, not actually bleachers.

    Lil Kim, Vybz, and Sammy are obvious bleachers. Rihanna's grandmother is a White bajan of Irish descent, so It isn't surprising her skin is so light. I actually think Beyonce attempts to make her skin look DARKER. Michael Jackson's autopsy proved that he did in fact have the skin disease vitiligo. Not sure bout everyone else

    I've always said that Bey makes her skin darker...if you see her with little to no make up you can see how light she is (even in baby pics) her mom looks almost white...she uses bronzer to look darker...and some of the rest are vitims of different lighting situations...

    Oh come on!! Some of the pics had different lighting or were commercial pics with airbrushing. And MICHAEL JACKSON had VITILIGO (skin disorder). Himself, his family&friends and doctors have said it, it was also mentioned in his AUTOPSY report.

    mo*****enzone and other skin whiteners work by killing off the remaining melinin cells in your skin cells. So the 'bleaching' as you call it doesnt make you lighter, it makes you white, pale... albino pale.
    Michael did it to even ot his blotchy skin tone, Sammy may have done it for the same reason.
    Did anyone ask Sammy if he has vitiligo?
    Sammy must have been out of the public eye, cause it doesnt work that fast (much to fellow vitiligo sufferers chagrin)
    anyway. it's a free country... people can adjust they're bodies as they'd like.. boob, nose jobs, hair weaves and skin tone adjustments - dark or light. it doesnt change who they are or who their ancestors are. u cant judge people till you've lived in their shoes.

      Rihanna bleached aswell even her brothers are not as light as she is looking these days nearly ALL black female celebs bleach- that whether talk is BS, yes it can change your colour but not THAT much even if you went to live in the North Pole for a year you wouldn't jump 5 shades lighter. The same goes for the sun yeah it can make you dark but not as much as you may think especially skin with melanin.

    Here's an idea... instead of using photos from magazines that intentionally lighten images so they are easier to see and remove skin flaws, go for cruddy paparazzi photos.

    How can you say Beyonce and Rihanna bleach when recent images of the two show they are still the same freakin color they are known for?!

    The results of skin bleaching isn't pretty, and people who do it remain blotchy for quite a while. So besides the most obvious, not everyone bleaches and looks instantly great.

    My friend interviewed Destiny's child years ago and she commented on how light Beyonce was. My friend was very surprised.I don't think Beyonce bleaches her skin. I think her mother denied being black anyway.

    African Americans aren't the only people that bleach their skin.
    (As evidenced by the people in this post.) Indians, Africans,West Indians and a few others do. Its actually more prevelant in other countries. Its a shame because the CHEMICALS that are used in skin bleachers are DANGEROUS. Check out some of the effects on google when you have a chance. We need to learn to lover ourselves the way we are. I don't care what the media might think about my rich chocolate skin and loced hair. I am beautiful and this is the way God made me. I will never alter my appearance for foolishness!!

    Many of those celebretys didn't bleach their skins. The skin can get lighter or darker because of the winter, summer or in a photo, using photo editors. The people who bleach their skins are stupid, very stupid people. The skin doesn't matter, even if you are black, white , yellow or blue , it simply doesn't matter.
    And the people who sad that been black is better than been white are wonrg too. They are only f****n skins.

    LOL Yup ya are dumb, both of those pics are LaToya, she was always light and always had all that hair. If anything, she got the majority of th white genetics in the family, because she was always the lightest Jackson out of everybody. Michael had Vitiligo and you can see patches of it forming from the mid 80's. There are tons of pics of him youtube which clearly showed he was a victim of the disease/skin disorder. He also had Lupus, and Vitilogo can sometimes be as a result of Lupus. I wish people would leave Michael alone. Because of Lupus, he'd be in sooo much physical pain but still went on and performed like a true showman. And Lil Kim is the eptome of skin lightening. She did a complete 180!

    For the ignoramuses on here that have never seen a person with vitiligo, it DOES NOT turn your skin a even color of white. For someone MJ's complexion, he would have had puzzle pieces of pink skin first, which would have become white as he aged. It takes decades for someone with vitiligo to reach the stage where their skin would be white, and again it happens in patches - MJ bleached his skin to even it out but he bleache dit nontheless.

    Seeing things like this can be disappointing, but also empowering. I feel sorry for anyone who would want to be lighter than God intended them to be. I'm not dark skinned, so I can't understand what the issue with it is.. but I am a woman of African decent, partially. But the part of me that is I wish was more because black is so beautiful.     Alot of the lighter celebrities Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Beyonce sometimes use bronzer or tan to get a more golden look. But its obvious when the cease to use the product, they go back to their fair skin.
    Trust me in the Caribbean, bleaching is as old as time and you can tell when someone is bleaching. The skin takes on an unnatural, sometimes almost raw hue to it!

    Looking at Sammy Sosa, Vybz and Michael Jackson must all suffer from vitiligo. They only way they can live a normal life in the public eye is to bleach the brown skin or even color. I use to think Michael Jackson bleached his skin to be WHITE and SELF HATE. Until I personally started to suffer from Vitiligo myself. It's a very emotional disease and it gets worse with STRESS. I am trying to bleach my face so I can live a NORMAL lIFE!! I miss my brown SKIN!! I cry everyday.

    This is just ridiculous. I don't believe Beyonce, Rihanna, Iman, or Trina is bleaching. Look, Iman came from Somalia, in AFRICA. Of course, she was darker. Now she is lighter because she lives in the States. I'm from Nigeria and I know that my complexion when through a complete transformation when I came to the U. S. The same can be applied to Rihanna. Celebrities take better care of their skin, ie sunscreen, moisturizers, scar removal, so that's probably why they seem lighter. And lighting, make up and Photoshopping makes a huge difference. Why do we care anyway? To make ourselves feel better?

    Blacks do get lighter from summer to winter, however Rihanna was in Barbados and Nicki Minaj was in Queens and somehow their light year round now. I'm from Trinidad and get lighter in cold climates, and my hair grows long, but they travel the world and still stay light now, so figure it out for yourself.

    It could the lighting that alters their skin tones! I have a caramel complextion and depending on the lighting I can appear lighter or darker in pictures! But I definitely think Lil' Kim and Trina bleach their skin! And Sammy Sosa looks hella scary! LOL!

      How'd he go from dark, to light brown to white? I had a neighbor who had that disease and he was black and got white patched across his body. it doesnt go evenly, nor does it go from dark to lighter , it literally goes from black to WHITE. But how come in the 80s MJ was lighter than he was in the 60's and then eventually got white? He bleached one point in his life.

        Google his home videos. They show that Michael had bleached his waist up for publicity purposes after vitiligo spotting became too hard to cover up. You can see it all over his legs which were still black. Check it out. Can't speak for the plastic surgeries though lol

    Celebrities who gets their skin bleached, is actually sending a signal to the black community that it is okay not to be comfortable in their own skin. It's like plastic surgery. I respect those who turn to plastic surgery because of health or mental issues, but i certainly think that there should be a line. All the celebrities with their unnecessary plastic surgery is screaming that being fake is being "perfect". I am black and I am proud of it.   This disgust me.

    I'm looking at Rihanna and think that lighting and season may play more of a part for her.  I am a medium complexioned black woman.  About Elise Neal's complexion in summer/spring.  In winter  I get more pale, about Kim Cole's color.  People tell me in winter I need sun.  They miss when I'm darker in Sping/Summer.  Sometimes my skin burns darker in Summer and it takes about the next winter for my true color to come back.  So I think this is at play with Rihanna.  I do think Bey is being lightened.  Even if only while on set.

    I really don't see a problem with it. People can do what they what with their body. It's not even about being white it's about having an even skin tone. I'm a light skinned person but sometimes when I get exposed to the sun it turn colors in diferent places and it throws my whole comlempextion off. It's about geting that sun kissed middle skin tone if your not there yet. But if your really dark and you want to be white like a paper then yeah Somthing is wrong with that.

    well rhianna and beyonce is too light to claim they bleached. Lighting changes your color in photography to say anything about bleaching unless you are real dark. I am caramel and I could show you so many differernt versions of my complexion, winter, summer, indoors, outdoor, sunshine, I can get realighter than myself to down and out dark-skinned.     Michael Jackson was a celebrity and had a image to uphold. I think he bleached to even his skin tone, so he wouldn't have to go on stage looking like a cow.     Hardly any of these are victims of skin bleaching. It looks like a combination of bad lighting/overexposure and or airbrushing. I hate when this topic is brought up but not in it's entirety. What about when light skinned people are pressured by societies standards to tan? Skin cancer, irreversible damage from dangerous UV rays are a known fact and yet people are pressured to look a certain way so they dismiss the deadly facts. There's no intent to discourage the awareness that needs to brought to the issue of skin lightening, because it IS a problem, when it's truly present that is. I just don't agree that every celebrity in these photos have bleached their skin.

I think next there will be the dumb craze of de-bleaching from white faux skin to black. Black is so beautiful, yet many of you have completely punked the black race.

    Don't forget. Black people can tan as well and those tans fade. Not saying that's always the case. some are clearly much lighter than their natural skin tone. Also some pictures have weird lighting.

    Some of theses celebs, like Rihanna and Beyonce, haven't actually bleached their skin. They are naturally that light but sometimes appear darker due to tanning. But lets say they did bleach their skin, so what ! They are the ones who have to deal with their appearance, so if it makes them happy, let it be. In terms of them setting an example to younger girls, there's no need for the younger generation to be "copy cats". Parents should get a handle on that.

    most of these people have not bleached their skin... some def have (Vybz, Michael, Sammy), but Beyonce, Rihanna, and Trina.. I dont think so.. when you have that shade of skin.. your skin color changes constantly.. depending if you tan and the season.. I change colors constantly

    Now that i think about it, Beyonce definitely bronzes to look darker. When she first took off frm destinys child she was targeted towards the black community soley and bronzed to b accepted more, now that she is a mega star even in the white community she has stopped doing so as much. I am lighter than beyonce or similar as a black woman. But i do think she uses creams to even out her skin tone.

    its strange how everyone frying their skin in the sun doesn't matter, but its not okay to make your skin look lighter. They are equally as damaging but why is everyone concentrating on beyonce, its like bullying. Maybe she doesn't want to look "white" maybe she wants look exotic (the medium colored tone she is right now). She's a music artist, not a public official. People buy her music because they like the way she sounds, not her body. Everyone has the right to do whatever they want to their body even if its damaging or what not. some people like curly/straight or wavy hair, some like it blond,black, or brown. I dye my hair red, not because I am ASHAMED of being a brunette, but because I like red hair on me. I feel so bad for her because everyone is bullying her, leave her alone, and mind your own bodies

    First I know first hand that Vitiligo can cause your entire body to turn white. It is different for everyone, there are some cases that are more severe than others. Second several of these people look different based on lights, tanning, makeup etc.
