Rihanna's “S&M” Banned In 11 Countries
Rihanna's new single “S&M” is being deemed too racy for television and radio in 11 countries whose officials have banned it.
The video which features the pop star in latex outfits and “torturing” members of the media debuted Monday, to seemingly little to no controversy in the U.S.
Overseas however, officials are restricting not only the video but the song as well.
Britain's Daily Mirror reports that the promo for S&M has been banned in 11 countries, and BBC bosses in the U.K. have banned DJs at Radio 1 from playing it before 7 p.m.
A BBC spokesman tells the publication,
"We are waiting for an edited version before deciding whether it will be played in the daytime."
