Lil Wayne Crushes Oreo’s Attempt At Facebook Record

Lil Wayne proved that he is more popular than cookies Wednesday by setting the Guinness World Record for most Facebook “Likes” on a post in 24 hours right after Oreo etched their name in the record books.

Oreo’s post went out urging fans to help them set the record for most likes in one day.

Five hours later, Wayne reached out to his 20 million fans on the social network and they responded.

Oreo ended up with 114,619 likes giving them the record and a ceremony in their honor.

When the Young Money general’s time was up, he buried the cookie company with 588,243 likes.

There is no word if Wayne had to register with Guinness before the actual feat took place, and a Kraft rep declined to comment.

Mazy Kazerooni, Lil Wayne’s digital manager, says that the idea was to show Wayne’s social media influence, “I want people to think ‘Bieber, Gaga and Lil Wayne.’ The traffic we do is ridiculous and no one really knows.”

They know now.

Maybe a collaboration with Oreo might be on the way.
