Child Molester Francis Phillip Tullier Is Castrated in Plea Deal
Talk about a crime fitting the punishment, Francis Phillip Tullier, a convicted child molester in Louisiana, underwent surgical castrationon Thursday so he could be released from prison on parole.
Tullier plead guilty in 1999 to 3 counts of molestation and faced hundreds of molestation counts involving young girls. The now 78-year-old Tullier was sentenced to 27 years in prison.
According to The Associated Press, Tullier’s lawyer Nathan Fisher, said that under the agreement Tullier could only be eligible for parole once he underwent castration.
Tullier agreed to have the surgery at his own expense according to officials and it was done this week after years of delays while Tullier was treated for various medical issues.
The Advocate newspaper reports that Tullier is due for release next week. He will live in Iberville Parish and has to register as a sex offender.
Tullier admitted abusing three girls, ages 6 to 12, during the 1970s and 80s. As part of the plea deal, he agreed to have his testicles surgically removed. If he didn’t have the procedure done, Tullier wasn’t expected to be released until 2024.
