Idris Elba is the latest celebrity to cover an upcoming issue of The Source magazine and in it, the actor that moonlights as a Hip-Hop DJ speaks on a number of topics including his controversial role in the movie Thor.

As previously reported a white supremacist group started the website boycott-thor.com and lashed out at Marvel Comics for casting the African actor to play a Norse God.

In the upcoming issues Elba addresses the controversy caused by his character’s race as well as producing for Jay-Z and his evolution as a thespian––from a drug kingpin on HBO’s The Wire to the husband of Beyonce.

He tells The Source,

“I’ve challenged my audience. I’ve taken them from being a drug lord to a preacher to married to Beyonce to American Gangster…versatility is the key to success”.

The May issue of The Source Magazine will be on newsstands nationwide May 2nd.
