Osama Bin Laden Killed In Pakistan
Al Qaeda founder and leader Osama bin Laden was killed by U.S. forces on Sunday night.
Bin Laden was the mastermind behind the 9/11 attacks on America in 2001, and had been sought by the U.S. for nearly 10 years.
The Al Qaeda leader’s death came after an attack and firefight by U.S. troopers, following intelligence information that bin Laden was in a mansion in Abbottabad, Pakistani.
“Tonight I can report to the American people and the world that the United States has conducted an operation that killed Osama bin Laden,” President Obama announced late last night.
The 9/11 terror attack is viewed by many as the darkest moment in U.S. history, as nearly 3,000 people were killed during this attack by Al Qaeda on America soil on September 11, 2001.
Bin Laden’s capture was a goal of the Obama Administration, who had been the primary target in the war against terror.
