Video Director Vashtie Kola Calls Out Beyonce For ‘King B' Reference [Photos]

Vashtie Calls Out Beyonce

Famed video director Vashtie Kola caused controversy on Twitter this week when she subliminally took a shot at Beyonce for calling herself ‘King B.'

As previously reported Beyonce released her new single “Best Thing I Never Had” and included a promo picture for the new track.

The picture featured Beyonce standing in front of a mirror with the words ‘King B' written in lipstick.

 

Kola, whose been known to call herself ‘King Vashtie' obviously took offense to it and wrote,

“Its so entertaining that broads are referring to themselves as “KING…” now. its cute…”

Fans of Beyonce quickly stood up for the songstress and fired back at Kola for the subliminal message.

Kola has not made mention of Beyonce since.

In addition to directing videos including Solange Knowles' “T.O.N.Y.”, Kola became the first woman to design a Nike Air Jordan sneaker and previously dated Pharrell Williams.

Does Vashtie have a point?

    It does not really matter what Beyonce does...someone/some where is not going to like her for what ever reason. The problem with that is...no matter how much you hate her she is still relevant & you take time out to form an opinion on someone you may or may not know personally. Her life continues to go on. The bottom line is..nothing is ever new/because history repeats itself. So who is really original? Is it wrong to be inspired? She won't stop making her money..& living her life because of haters:-)

    Prime example of rich people you will never know: The executives at Sony records, who at the the end of the day Beyonce pays. The people that she borrows samples from, who get paid everytime the song is used. The people who help her write and produce her album. Her stylist. Her publicist. Beyonce is no longer just an individual, she's an entity. So those people are a bunch of people unknown to you bums and have way more money than you stans.

    So true, my friends and I joke and call ourselves King because we are single mothers doing it by ourselves. Neither one of these ladies were the first to refer to themselves as king. This is just silly. The last original music probably existed in the late 80's or early 90's. Gaga wants to be like madonna, ciara wants to be like janet & alliyah and Beyonce really mixes it all. I think she just loves to entertain.
