Tracy Morgan Apologizes In Statement

Comedian Tracy Morgan, who recently came under fire for the an anti-gay portion of his comedic sketch apologized today (June 10).

A statement issued by the 30 Rock star reads:

“I want to apologize to my fans and the gay & lesbian community for my choice of words at my recent stand-up act in Nashville. I’m not a hateful person and don’t condone any kind of violence against others. While I am an equal opportunity jokester, and my friends know what is in my heart, even in a comedy club this clearly went too far and was not funny in any context.”

As previously reported, Morgan came under fire after a concertgoer reported the details of an anti-gay laced rant the actor performed at a recent show in Nashville.

Morgan reportedly said among other things that he would kill his son if her turned out gay.
