Lupe Fiasco Talks Food & Liquor 2

After a four year struggle to get his last album Lasers released, Lupe Fiasco isn’t wasting time to get started on his next album.

The Chicago rapper told Billboard.com that he already began working on his new album, Food & Liquor 2, and is taking what he learned from releasing Lasers into his next project.

“It’s really taking the lessons I learned from Lasers, and applying that to Food & Liquor [2]. That’s really it,” he said.

Fiasco also explained to Billboard that he wasn’t content in the final product of Lasers, which is a point he made public while promoting the album.

“Me being an artist, I’m never happy with my work, because I don’t ever think it’s finished. It’s hard for an artist to walk away from a piece and say, ‘okay, that’s done.'”

Lasers landed at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling over 200,000 copies in its first week.

Lupe’s single “The Show Goes On” was certified platinum in April.

No release date for Food & Liquor 2 has been announced.
