Obie Trice's Mother Passes From Cancer

The mother of frequent Eminem collaborator Obie Trice, has died from a long battle with breast cancer.

"My mom was always in my corner and her presence will be missed tremendously, said Trice in a statement. “ I'm more determined than ever to ensure I not only impact the music industry but also my community, just as she expected."

Trice rapped about his mother on the song “Don't Come Down” off his 2003 debut Cheers and has also been an active supporter of the fight against breast cancer since his mother's diagnosis.

The loss of “Ms. Elanore” comes as Trice preps his indie debut Bottoms Up on his own label Black Market Records.

Obie was signed to Eminem's Shady Records from 2000-2008 releasing two albums, Cheers (2003) and Second Round's on Me (2006).
