Tabi Bonney To Release New Album With Damon Dash & Ski Beatz

Just in time for Autumn, DC’s favorite hip-pop West African transplant, Tabi Bonney is readying the release of his fourth studio album, The Summer Years, entirely produced by undercover grandmaster, Ski Beatz, the in-house producer at Dame Dash’s Tribeca studio, DD172.

The duo’s first karate chop at the Internets is “The Winner’s Parade” featuring Nicole Wray.

HipHopWired spoke exclusively with Tabi to find out what kind of sound is coming out of the dojo that Bloomberg shut down (only temporarily, obviously).

“It’s straight up Hip-Hop,” he said. “I’m more lyrical, and then Ski’s range, he doesn’t stay the same in one song, so you’ll see that the range of the beats … it’s vast, it’s not like one dimension.”

Tabi and Ski previously worked together for a track on Ski’s 24-Hour Karate School. They’ll be joined on the Hip-Hop & Love tour beginning at the end of this month with The Summer Years’ only other hip-hop feature, Murs.

Tabi is now managed by Damon Dash as well and added,

“It’s 100% produced by Ski.  Dame Dash is putting it out, I’m just happy man.”
