Hall Of Fame Oakland Raiders Owner Dies At 82
Rest In Peace! Famed Raiders Owner Davis Dead At 82
“I can control most things, but I don't seem to be able to control death,” said the owner of the Oakland Raiders, Al Davis.
Al was right and he passed away on Saturday at 82 years old. The beloved Hall of Fame owner was against the grain with his attire, and was a groundbreaking executive that hired women as coaches and put Blacks in the quarterback position at a time when it was not conventional.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said, “He defined the Raiders and contributed to pro football at every level. The respect he commanded was evident in the way that people listened carefully every time he spoke. He is a true legend of the game whose impact and legacy will forever be part of the NFL.”
