MMG’s Meek Mill On Mixtape With Wale and Debut Album

Philadelphia resprenting rapper Meek Mill is indisputable one of the hottest MCs in Hip-Hop right now. The Maybach Music signee recently sat down with The Source to reveal some of his plans for 2012.

2011 was Meek’s breakout year thanks to the smash “I’ma Boss,” featuring Rick Ross, as well as his current hit “House Party,” featuring Young Chris. Both songs were on Meek’s highly regarded mixtape, Dreamchasers.  His next mixtape is a collaboration with his MMG labelmate Wale, who tweeted, “Wale n Meek Mill mixtape???????? Stay tuned,” on December 17.

“Just talkin’ on the phone,” is how Meek says the project came about. “Matter fact, we was just in a room, just chillin’, playing freestyles for each other, let’s do a mixtape. We ain’t ego trippin’, you know what I mean? We both hot at the same time. It would only make sense, and money.”

Another way Meek plans on making sure his pockets are never empty—and give him the means to do thing like donating basketball gear to kids in Philly—is via his debut album, due next year.

“2012 I drop my debut album. I’m trying to put that classic out and hurt the game. It’s one of them albums everybody been waiting for… [I’m] one of them new artists coming up from the ground that’s spittin’ street but [can] drop a classic and still do some numbers.”
