Cory Gunz Arrested With Loaded Gun In The Bronx
YMCMB's Cory Gunz was arrested on Saturday afternoon (January 28) in The Bronx after being caught with a loaded gun. MTV News received confirmation of the arrest via the Young Money rapper's father, Peter Gunz.
"The details are still sketchy, but I can confirm that he was arrested with a firearm yesterday in the Bronx," said Gunz. "They caught him around 2p.m. in the afternoon with a loaded gun in his knapsack."
The elder Gunz also mentioned that he felt the search which turned up the gun was illegal. Gunz also spoke to the arresting officer who mentioned that they were tipped off about the rapper carrying the weapon.
"This is Cory's first offense," said Gunz. "But sometimes they like to make an example out of rappers and people with any kind of celebrity to them."
The younger Gunz, who recently starred in the MTV series Son Of a Gun, is currently being held at The Bronx's Central Booking on 161st Street.
