In some of the weirdest news of the week, gossip site TMZ broke news of a rumor that late West Coast hook provider Nate Dogg will make a posthumous appearance at the Coachella music festival this coming weekend. It appears that Dr. Dre wanted a true reunion of his former collaborators onstage Sunday evening, and the legendary producer is said to be using the same technology singer Mariah Carey used last year to beam images in five different locations in Europe.

Dre and his longtime ally and former protégé Snoop Dogg will headline the festival and will bring along Tha Dogg Pound duo Kurupt and Daz Dillinger and Warren G (who was in a group with Snoop Dogg and Nate Dogg). TMZ reports via sources that Nate’s image will be broadcast with the rest of the crew, making him appear to be a part of the big show. Several songs are slated to be performed by Nate as well, if the rumors hold true. Sadly, Nate Dogg passed away at the age of 41 last March due to stroke complications, leaving a massive void in the musical landscape.

We all miss Nate Dogg’s silky baritone as much as the next person. But how does this go over with the rest of the Hip-Hop nation? Is this too much too soon?
