Television Icon, Richard Wagstaff Clark, Dies At Age 82
Pioneering television producer and host of New Years' Rockin' Eve, Richard Clark passed away today due to a massive heart attack. He was 82. Clark had been in St. John's hospital in Los Angeles after undergoing an outpatient procedure last night, and had suffered a massive heart attack afterwards. Attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.
The "world's oldest teenager," was the host and producer of American Bandstand, which was the inspiration to Soul Train. Clark was the host of "Pyramid," "Scattegories," and a member of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame.
