Chiddy Bang is going to have a busy summer. Currently on a UK promotional run, Chiddy and Xaphoon Jones have announced that they will head out with Wiz Khalifa, and Mac Miller, for the Under the Influence of Music tour.
Having collaborated with both Miller and Khalifa in the past, joining the tour marks a reunion of sorts, for the Young MCs. “I’m super excited to go on tour with Wiz and Mac and all the artists are the tour,” Chiddy told Hip-Hop Wired exclusively. “I came up listening to Wiz and met him when I was a freshman in college back in ’08. We eventually did a song together with Big Sean, and Xaph and I have a track with Mac also so it’s all fam on the tour. I’m a fan of everyone touring with us.”
2012 is shaping up to be a good year for the Philly duo, their well-reviewed Breakfast debut came in at No. 8 on the Billboard charts, and their “Mind Your Manners,” video has received nearly half a million views on YouTube— in less than a week. Needless to say, going back out on the road will be nothing short of a celebration. “It’s cool we can all team up and play bigger venues, Jones added. “Everywhere we go it’s gonna be a dope night of young, new Hip Hop. I will probably smoke a whole bunch of weed.”
The Under The influence of Music tour starts July 26 at Cincinnati’s Riverbend Music Center, and wraps up August 5 at the DTE Energy Music Theatre, in Detroit.
