Silky smooth R&B crooner Bei Maejor has a Hip-Hop pedigree. The one time rapper and University of Michigan graduate got his first production placement on a Trey Songz record when he was just 17 years-old, and he’s been putting in work ever since. After biding his time with Ne-Yo’s Compound Entertainment, the clout he received from his songwriting and production talent on the boards helped him get names like Keri Hilson and Drake on his first mixtape on the strength.

The Gammy nominated artist has since only added more notable collaborations to his resume, including the Kang. “Working with T.I. is cool because he’s such a veteran on knowing his style and where he wants to go with the song,” Bei Maejor, who produced Iggy Azalea’s Tip featuring “Murda Bizness,” tells Hip-Hop Wired. “So working with him is pretty easy. He’s been doing it for so long that he has a vision for what he wants to do and he just takes it and goes.”

Watch more of our chat with the 24 year-old below where he talks about working with Iggy Azalea and learning new studio techniques from Waka Flocka Flame, who appears on his “Lights Down Low” single. The crooner/producer also name drops some of his key Detroit representing musical influences.
