Nicki Minaj Plays Nice With Other Female Rappers At BET Awards
Nick Minaj was the female rapper to beat at this year's BET Awards, but the Young Money rapper reigned supreme. Minaj won the Best Female Hip-Hop Artist award and rather than star controversy, she paid homage to those in her league.
Earlier in the night, Minaj performed her track "Beez in the Trap," alongside 2 Chainz, and when it was time to grab her award she gave thanks to other female MCs. "This is the third year in a row [winning this award] and I don't take it for granted," she started. "I really appreciate BET for keeping this category alive. I appreciate all the female rappers, past present, and future."
Minaj has had a long-standing rift with Lil' Kim, but based on her speech alone, the tide may have finally changed.
